In a nutshell mobile marketing is on a mobile device, such as Android, iPads, iPhones, Tablets, Windows phone, laptops, etc. And any marketing activity operated through a network to which we the consumer is connected using a personal mobile device.
Another example to describe mobile marketing is that it is the use of the mobile medium as a means of marketing advisement and it’s message can communicate promotional or advertising messages through wireless networks communication of any kind.
Or perhaps this more specific definition of using interactive wireless media to provide clients or customers with time and location sensitive, personalised information that promotes meaning, concepts, services and viewpoints, thereby generating information and value for all of us.
The world now has nearly as many cell phone subscriptions as inhabitants. According to U.N. Telecom Agency report, the world has about 6 billion cell phone subscribers.
